iPhone6 VS iPhone6 Plus

Apple presented iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in September 2014. Introduced two sizes for the first time since the iPhone 5s. They had a 4.7 inch 1334×750 display with 326 ppi and a 5.5-inch 1920×1080 panel with 401 ppi. Phones ran the A8 chip with the M8 motion coprocessor while the 6 Plus added optical image stabilization to its camera.

Apple Pay debuted on these models using NFC for contactless payments and storage options went up to 128GB on both phones. Battery capacity has a key difference: the iPhone 6 used an 1810 mAh cell and 6 Plus carried a larger 2915 mAh battery. Both had iOS 8 and later upgraded to iOS 12.5.7. Last official update released on January 23, 2023, after which software compatibility with newer apps began to wane.

In 2024, Apple had ended lifecicle of iPhone 6 Plus as old one and the iPhone 6 as obsolete in October 2024. It stops hardware repairs and signs a final turn toward newer models. Large screens, Apple Pay and a lifecycle that moved from rapid evolution to formal obsolescence - underscore the way the iPhone 6 family shaped subsequent iPhone development and device-management policies.
