Google will offer wireless Internet

Google Fi: Wireless Service Now on One Network

Origins and networks

Google Fi launched back in 2015 and had project name Project Fi. At first was used both Sprint and T-Mobile, along with their Wi-Fi hotspots to keep you connected. As the result - service would always pick the strongest signal for you.

Current Fi status and pricing

When Sprint and T-Mobile merged in 2020, Google Fi kept using the combined network. Then in 2023, Fi dropped U.S. Cellular, so T-Mobile became the only official network. In 2024, T-Mobile made a deal to buy most of U.S. Cellular’s wireless business, and by August 2025, that deal was done. This gave T-Mobile even more coverage. Around the same time, Google Fi changed its pricing. There’s now a new Unlimited Essentials plan for $35 a month, and the other plans got updated data limits too.
